The difference between ou and où

“Ou” (or) and “où” (where) are French homophones but DO NOT mean the same thing.

“Ou” which is a conjunction is written without accent when it indicates a choice between two words or two groups of words. It can be replaced by “ou bien”.
Example:
Viens-tu lundi ou mardi?
Viens-tu lundi ou bien mardi ?

When “où” is written with the accent, it is either a relative pronoun or an adverb that indicates a place.
Example:
Où êtes-vous?
Dites-moi où vous souhaitez qu'on se rejoigne.
