In French the verbs are divided in three different groups.
Let's see the conjugation of the verbs of the third group at the present tense:

Most of the verbs have these termination:
-s -s -t -ons -ez -ent
example:
APERCEVOIR
Aperçois
Aperçois
Aperçoit
Apercevons
Apercevez
Aperçoivent

The verbs finishing in -dre like “vendre” (to sell), “perdre” (to lose) have the following termination:
-ds -ds -d -ons -ez -ent
example:
VENDRE
Vends
Vends
Vend
Vendons
Vendez
Vendent

Except for the verbs finishing in -aindre like “craindre” (to fear), -eindre “peindre” (to paint), -oindre “joindre” (to join) have these terminations:
-s -s -t -ons -ez -ent
example:
CRAINDRE
Crains
Crains
Craint
Craignons
Craignez
Craignent

The verbs “pouvoir” (to can), “vouloir” (to want), and “valoir” (to be worth) have the following terminations:
-x -x -t -ons -ez -ent
Example:
POUVOIR
Peux
Peux
Peut
Pouvons
Pouvez
Peuvent

The verbs finishing in -IR like those of the second group see a change in their terminations:
-e -es -e -ons -ez -ent
Example:
OUVRIR
Ouvre
Ouvres
